Custom Perfume Blending – Blend By Botanical Family
May 18, 2019 @ 2:00 pm - 4:00 pm
$20This month we are learning more about the various botanical families and how they can be used to create scents that are distinctive. This method is a little more in depth that the first workshop where we start with the scent family (Woodsy/Floral/Citrus/Herbaceous) and builds on the previous classes information to help you put together a more complex scent using different intentions.
The custom perfume blending workshop is a quarterly event where we teach you different concepts for blending a scent made by you, meant just for you. Learn both about what scents work well together and what they can do for your mood, wellness, life. We will be incorporating chips of semi-precious stones and information on how they will tie to your intention for the blend.
Take home one personalized roller bottle of scent with the cost of the class, additional ones can be made for an additional $8 each. All supplies will be provided as will class notes for you to take home for review.
Suggested Reading:
We highly recommend the book “Mixing Essential Oils For Magic” shown below (click here or on photo to go to amazon), it is the basis for the 3 classes we teach and is a wealth of information. If you are inspired to learn more, you can’t go wrong starting here. The foundational concepts of scent blending are laid out in clear language that makes them accessible and easy to understand. It also incorporates information about the plants and scents that can give you a foundational knowledge of what essential oils are useful for both a practical and spiritual practice. Whether you just want to blend something that smells lovely or you want to imbue it with purpose this book is a lovely support to your essential oil learning. (Thank you Trina at Talis Healing for the recommendation! I love that you always have such great things to share!)
The other main book we use is the “Essential Oil Desk Reference” by Life Science Publishing. Of all the essential oil books in our library this one is by far the easiest and most succinct. They’re currently on the 7th edition and have translations in Chinese, German, Japanese, and Spanish with more coming soon. There is a pocket reference, but it only has basically one chapter out of the full size book so I only have a few of the older editions of that since they came as a bundle for a long time. If you want to know more about essential oils, how to use them and have references for the scientific studies that are part of the basis for the suggested usage this book is the best one in our opinion. It will give you an excellent foundation of knowledge in an easy to access format that will support your whole life wellness. This book is Young Living specific and they issue a new edition every few years to keep up with the expanding product lines and new essential oils that YL adds to their production. This means the older editions aren’t out of date, they just won’t have everything in them. If you find a good deal on one, used, say on amazon, go for it.
Looking forward to playing with you!
