So this is another book I wish I’d read before I started cold calling stores to try to get them to carry my soap. If you don’t know this about me, I used to own a bath & body care company, just before I left it, it was represented in all 50 states and sold in 5 other countries. That was a lot of blood sweat and tears for me, my business partner and our staff. I learned to get over my anxiety with calling strangers and asking them to sell our products pretty quickly. We made great, hand made, quality products so I was confident with that so it was easy to spout enthusiasm about what we did, what I realize now is that I wasted a lot of resources trying to actually close the deal.
This book is a great tool for anyone who is selling anything. It’s addressed to those people who are selling real goods but it applies to anything that is a sale. He talks about body language and verbiage and how you can boost your sales and your customers confidence in who you are and what you’re doing simply by how you phrase things. This book is an expanded dissertation on what Ryan Chamberlin talks about in Now You Know, basically, why are some people really successful and others not when they have the same tools. No matter what you’re doing with your life, this book has something for you.
