Ingredients
- Round sour dough bread loaves
- 1# Broccoli Crowns
- 1 Large White Onion
- 4 Cloves Garlic
- 1/2 Cup Butter
- 1/2 cup Flour
- 4 cups Chicken Stock
- 2 Cups Milk
- Bunch Parsley
- 3 Drops Black Pepper
- 1 Drop Laurus Nobilis (Bay)
- 1 Teaspoon Worcestershire Sauce
- 2 Cups Sharp Cheddar Cheese
- Salt & Pepper To Taste
Instructions
- Coarsely chop broccoli then steam broccoli in small amount of salted water for 10 minutes or until al-dente.
- Chop onion, chop parsley, crush garlic & grate cheese.
- In large saucepan, sauté onion & garlic in butter until it starts to go glassy, add parsley.
- Whisk in flour to make a roux.
- Add chicken stock, milk, essential oils & Worcestershire sauce. Stir while simmering until mixture slightly thickens. Taste & adjust seasonings (salt, pepper, etc).
- Add chopped broccoli then bring to a low boil, stir in shredded cheese until melted.
- Serve in individual hollowed out bread loaf halves, garnish with additional shredded cheddar.
